Everyone always asks, “Where did the name ACORN come from,” and I am so glad my mom (Georgia Clasen) shared the story with me before she passed away in 2007. She said, “well me and JoAnn (Perucca) thought we were nuts to start the show.” Two “nuts” following their love for Antiques is where it began in 1986. The show began in the Old Armory in South Ogden, then grew to the Union Station, and from there, the Acorn Antique Show needed a larger home. Since then, the show has been held at the Weber County Fairgrounds, where it continues to grow like a “Mighty Oak.”
Although the show continues to grow with all the “Antique Lovers” support, ACORN continues to call the Weber County Fairgrounds their home. Instead of moving locations to accommodate the growing number of antique dealers and our wonderful customers, ACORN went from two shows a year (February and November) to three, and added a Spring Show every May.
Many thanks go out to our loyal and wonderful customers. They have made it possible for us to bring great antique dealers from North Dakota to California, and all the states in between, for the past 27 years!!!
Today, the show remains a family owned business, and with all the help and dedication of the Wilcock and Clasen Families, AND the continued support from Antique & Vintage lovers, ACORN plans on being here for many more years to come!
